This painting is dedicated to a dear friend of mine that passed away from cancer. During an evening studio session, I found myself reflecting on the quality of person he was- compassionate, patient and loving in a genuine way. He was one of those people I knew I could be truly me and show up with every facet of myself.
These thoughts brought me to contemplating how his consciousness is out there in the world somehow, somewhere and wondering in what way he connects with me and other loved ones. The image of two trees reaching for one another came through. And like mirrors they reach for one another, one in sky and another on earth. So much the same yet in other places, meeting in the middle somehow along the way.
