Circular Celestial Floral
My favorite time of the day is right before the sun rises. There is something incredibly beautiful about this liminal time that is full of potential and anticipation. When I was in Design School I LOVED walking back from studio at 5 AM and the absolute stillness of the world.
This piece is an expression and exploration of that potential. It was made through several layers and processes. The first was using a resist to make a wreath of flowers and then when it dried I began layering the multitude of wreaths on top of it and circling around. The night sky always reminds me how temporary this life is and the smallness of our existence. It’s a reminder to play in life and not take it all too seriously. Darkness is the absolute expression of feminine energy in it’s full potential, from nothing is where everything is born.
