Inspired by the calligraphy of the Zen Master during my residency at Furnace Mountain Zen Center, I began to create works that brought more spontaneity into their esthetic. As with this piece, you can see the golden strokes creating a radiating sun that the flowers are then emerging from. This is an expression of how all everything comes from the vital energy that we are existing in.
