Color Sequence
Color Sequence is the precursor of the morse code pieces.
Using a white gel pen, I created a grid inspired by color mixing as a painting process. The ratio is whole, half and fourths as the grid becomes further subdivided with the hues mixed to the appropriate proportions for their respected space.
The result is a spectacularly vibrant work and although it is a smaller scale piece, it anchors space beautifully with its intensity and interest. The finish given from the acrylic paint has a slight gloss which highlights the guidelines initially used for the guidelines.
Color Sequence measures 10” Square and is on a 18” × 12” piece of paper so it is able to be framed as shown or trimmed to a square frame
