Palette Painting VII
The Palette Painting series is a study of the unconscious mind in process of painting. As I worked on a particular piece, I realized that the blending that occurred on the palette was equally interesting to what I was working on. With my cognitive focus on the other piece, there emerged a playfulness and freedom in the palettes that began to intrigue me. It was soon after this realization that I bought many smaller canvases to then use as palettes and complete their own paintings on.
Palette Painting VII features mostly blues and after it was completed as a palette, I filled in the remaining space with intuitionally guided colors. The main component of these works is less mind and more play. Colors featured in this piece are Kings Blue, Ultramarine Blue Light with warm hues contrasting in a sunset like stream along one edge.
This piece can be displayed in any direction. It is portrayed in my preferred orientation.
