Midnight Lakeside Forest Plein Air
This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. During the time I painted this, I lived in a charming covered pavilion next to a tranquil pond, where the captivating moon and night sky inspired my creativity. So, what did I do? I set my alarm for 3 AM and rose to paint in the stillness of the night. My desk was perfectly positioned to face the opening of the pavilion, allowing me to work in the dark using my headlamp, ensuring I used the colors I had meticulous preplanned in the days past.
This artwork is a mixed media creation, featuring walnut ink crafted by a dear friend as the underpainting, beautifully finished with watercolor and white ink highlights that breathe life into the piece.
What’s more, there’s another painting that compliments this piece, created during the same magical time, showcasing the cohesive journey of my artistic exploration.
