Palette Painting IV
The Palette Painting series is a study of the unconscious mind in process of painting. As I worked on a particular piece, I realized that the blending that occurred on the palette was equally interesting to what I was working on. With my cognitive focus on the other piece, there emerged a playfulness and freedom in the palettes that began to intrigue me. It was soon after this realization that I bought many smaller canvases to then use as palettes and complete their own paintings on.
Palette Painting IV almost appears as an abstracted landscape with colorful clouds in a sky, that is not how it came to be though. It features bold strokes mixing warm hues, with strokes of green and darker blues. After its completion as a palette, I filled the remaining space with a bright blue that creates a beautiful contrast with the original palette colors.
This piece can be displayed in any direction. It is wired and portrayed in my preferred orientation.
